Mid-Semester Grade Report as Uploaded Document or...?

Greetings!

I'm new to Blackbaud and my Registrar position at my high school. My experience prior to this has been as a university registrar. I was hired to nudge our implementation forward (it's been stalled for a few years). My faculty are not using gradebook or assignments (yet). I'd like to know if there's a way for me to upload a document with mid-semester grades so that our parents and students can view it? (Currently they can see their classes, news, calendar and 1 directory). Or is there some other interim solution that any of you might recommend? Thanks in advance for your collective wisdom!

  • If the mid-semester grade report is a pdf, you can create a file and upload it to the student's record so it shows in their “files and forms” - we did this with our MAP test results so they're visible to the parent/student as you designate. Otherwise, we started doing progress reports as “official notes”.

  • JT - you might also be able to format something as an assessment progress report in the report card builder that teachers can use to input the mid-term grades via a drop down menu - they might like that option, because they can “bulk edit” - add the same grade(s) to the whole class, then go in individually and change the ones that need to be adjusted. We're in year three, moved from Canvas, and my teachers love the report card piece. Happy to chat via email or phone!

We have a “Fall Progress” report card, a “Winter Mid-Term” report card, and a “Spring Comments” report card. All three are published at approximately the middle of the term.

They are created as Grade Plans (just like the end of term report cards).

The fall progress report card has a required grade and required comment for each course. The winter mid-term has a required grade and an optional comment for each course. The spring comment report has no grade, but a required comment for each course, plus a required comment from the advisor.
