Auto Generating Query to send as email for weekly reporting?

Hello,

I'm hoping to set up an auto-generated report via email once a week (based on a query) of donors who given for that week. Likely will set up one for each month if such a process exists. I've search and have not found any definitive step by step to do this.

In Reporting in NXT, you can set up a “Giving” report/dashboard for gifts that can be scheduled to be emailed to added email addresses. But the gift date choice would have to be manually changed each week since it does not allow for gift date “this week.” Plus, it does not allow for the dashboard to be based on your query. That's as close as you can get as far as I know. We previously used a dashboard in the dataview for a daily look at gifts that had been entered but that had to be manually sent out.

From the db side using queue, we have a weekly report for development staff of gifts from donors in their portfolios and one for unassigned records.

I created a query to capture their gifts for this week and corresponding export with the contact and gift data. Queue is set to run Friday/Saturday. It lands in the hosted file folder for them to pull Monday a.m. if they wish. Can explain in more detail our process if needed.

Most are using data from NXT but was asked to create this by former stewardship director looking at automating some of the acknowledgement process for the development staff.
