Do not send emails and purchases online

If a person no longer wants to receive emails from your organization and you make the email a "do not send", but then later this person purchases a ticket to an upcoming event online that receives an e-ticket, will it get delivered? Using that same email

  • Has this already happened? You can maybe adjust the status of that primary email? Or check to see if it is in the blocked emails…Interesting scenario that I'm certain has happened to us…seems if they create a whole new record including that email it will go through. It isn't a bounce.

  • It hasn't happened yet. I have just uploaded our emails into Constant Contact and noticed that many had unsubscribed. I started to mark them do not email in Altru so we don't send them emails in the future.

We are new to Altru and our plan is to start marketing through Altru and not Constant Contact. My confusion is if they are marked do not email will the e-ticket and receipt from an online purchase not be sent?

  • You can also manage emails through the Communications tab. You can set a Solicit Code that is something like “Do not email newsletters” and then you can use that in your appeals and marketing to remove people from the mailing. I would probably do this instead of marking the email as Do Not Email.

  • Perfect! Thank you
