Our IT people are looking into either Office 2021 or 365 for us. When they looked at the info, they think that BB only needs to change their programing to not point to use IE11 for authorizing the add-in. They can't say for sure that would solve the problem, but they did say that BB could probably do something to solve the problem instead of pushing the problem onto users.

Susan Tripp, Microsoft 365 works. We can't get a perpetual license for Office 2021 yet. If you got the desktop subscription version of Office 2021, that might be why it didn't work?? It may have something to do with the version needing to be a non-subscription version of 2021 or later. Or could be your operating system and Office version combination.

Sylvia, Probably correct on that. At least a little collaboration between microsoft and blackbaud but it could be a private party developer. Anyway 365 add-in worked for me with Windows OS 10, Chrome. Until we get the perpetual Office 2021 license, I think this is what I have to use. Another user said 2021 did not work for them. Just a heads up.

The JE Batch Import Add-In is working with O365 and Windows 10.

Elizabeth Bjork: Hopefully this thread will be useful to the community. Thanks for the update confirming O365 and Windows10 and the JE Batch Import Add-In are working together. I was also able to use it successfully along with Chrome.

Before we move our office platform from 2016 Pro, we have made the move to add Office 365 to be used exclusively with our JE upload...and that has eliminated the problem. I despise 365...it is another version of Google Sheets...but if it allows us to use the add on...so be it.

My understanding with O365 is you can have a "desktop" version to work with as well. So you do not have to work in the browser format only.

Mike: Agreed! I am not so crazy over 365 or google sheets myself. Seems too skinny. I like my right click choices to be where I expect them and other things too.

Sylvia, I installed 365 at home, but didn't want to install it on my pc at work yet since I'm awaiting a perpetual Office 2021 license. So, I am able to log into office.com and still use it at work when it is needed. Temporarily, this is how I will manage the add-in for my JEs.

We updated to Microsoft 365 yesterday, and my add-in worked properly…for a day. Now I'm getting a pop-up error when I try to sign in, and redirected to a browser window (in Google Chrome) telling me to adjust my Internet Explorer settings. Anyone else who updated getting a similar result?

I believe the only temporary solution right now is to use Excel 365 on a web browser. I'm about to test this out right now.

365 has worked for me with my Windows 10 OS and Chrome. I have not installed 365 on my computer at work but it seems to work fine when I used it last week. If I have any further hiccups, I will post again. Our institution is awaiting the Office 2021 perpetual license to be released to our vendor provider. Until then, I am just using 365.

Try 365 or Office 2021. 365 works for me. The obstacle is related to the combination of Windows Operating System, Browser and Version of Excel. Office 2016 is not a viable option for the JE Creator. Internet Explorer does not work with the MS office add-in for Blackbaud.

Office 365 in the browser is the tip that worked for me - thanks Melissa! We upgraded our hard drive versions of Office to 365 as well, but they're still not working.

I am trying Office 365 which they updated our Finance team to a couple weeks ago. No luck. A colleague was able to use it with no issues but for some reason I'm not having any luck.. Think I'll try from my personal computer this evening and see if that works.

We just had the same issue. We Uninstalled Microsoft 2016, logged into Microsoft 365 with work account (the add ons need to be added by a Microsoft Admin in your org. for the people in Finance that need them) Then install Microsoft 365 and its working. This is for Windows 10.

We were having Excel Add-in sign in issues. There is another discussion on this issue and someone said Blackbaud support had them or helped them clear the Excel cache which solved the issue. Today, another user and I were able to sign-in and use the JE creator using a previously created JE template.

I just added the Journal Entry Batch Creator for Financial Edge NXT via Excel through the Office365 Admin Console. Go to Home, Settings, Integrated Apps, Get Apps. Search for “Blackbaud”. Choose Journal Entry Batch Creator for Financial Edge NXT via Excel.
