running GL report for multiple departments and one project

I am trying to run a detailed GL report that has a sub-total of each department and then a grand for all the departments for one specific project. Is anyone able to run a report like this?

Assuming your departments are part of your account strings, you should be able to run a GL Activity Report, and simply filter it by the dates you want, and the Project you want. The resulting report will list each account string with activity in that project, in numerical order by account, which includes the department. If you're running a report for multiple projects, you can go into the Sort and Break area and sort by Project number, and then by Dept. I usually run GL reports in the database, but NXT has the same filters as the database now, and you can add sort fields as you need them.

Yes, our departments are part of our account strings. Within each project(grant) there are several departments. I need a report that subtotals all the activity within that period for each department and then totals by project. I am able to get a report that totals each project, but not departments. Is this possible?
