As a Georgia school, we have to report social security numbers to various organizations for our students. How are other schools collecting this information securely?

    We do not collect SSN for our school database but with respect to security, it's my understanding that natively only Platform Managers have access to SSN and some other sensitive fields. You can additionally give SSN access to a specific user by going to their profile in Core, navigate to the Access Tab, and click “Special Access” and check the box for “SSN/NI Access.”

    We're also in GA, so also need to collect SSNs for HOPE. We give users edit access to the SSN field; this enables students to enter their SSN. (Parents cannot enter for their student - the SSN field is pretty locked down, so users can only edit the information in their own profile)
