Please Help: Emergency Contacts Improvements: Allow for Addresses & Sharing Among Siblings

I need your help. There is an idea out there for an improvement that would make addresses available for emergency contacts. In Texas, Hawaii and Virginia, the state child care licensing bodies require that addresses be collected for emergency contacts. The system does not support this at all. We have to create a custom form that is not linked to the system fields for emergency contacts that includes an address field to collect the info, then we convert the info into a format that can be re-loaded into the system to appear in the Emergency Contact fields that are available in the system so that those fields are accurate. Then, we have to maintain a separate sheet with the addresses for child care licensing. We operate a preschool and after school care with our elementary school and these fall under the jurisdiction of state child care licensing. PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS IDEA:

As we wait for this idea to be implemented, does anyone have a better way to manage this?

Along with this, sharing emergency contacts among kids in the same family is also an open idea request. For the system to allow sharing of emergency contacts, PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS IDEA:

The only solution I could think of would be creating emergency contacts as relationships and then add the emergency contact's address as a shared address with the student(s). Definitely going to go vote on those ideas - thanks for bring this up!

Thanks so much for the tip! I just checked and there is no option for “friend” or “neighbor” in the relationships field. This leaves us no options for emergency contacts that are not technically “related” to the student. I really appreciate your time on this though. Have a great day

Hi Anita - your school can enable the Friend relationship label in Core > Users > User Profile Settings > Relationships

This could also be handled if we could add a Relationship that was Emergency Contact. And what is up with the current Emergency Contact fields? Are they useful "as is' for anyone? I am just trying to understand the logic that created the Emergency Contacts as being primarily a phone number or email and not a person.

There is no way to specify that the relationship is emergency contact. It would have to be added as a nebulous Friend or Other which would be confusing. AND we have another category that needs to be added - Approved to Pick Up. I have been on chat support with the BB team and there is no solution for this that is not confusing to users.
