starting with TeamRaiser vs JustGiving - which?

Hi all, If your org was going to start a new peer-to-peer (sport challenge, free to register) program in 2022, would you begin with TeamRaiser or JustGiving? (we have RENXT, RELO, LO)

Comments

  • I moved this to Raiser's Edge NXT to get more answers, but can also move it to Luminate (for Teamraiser) and JustGiving community, if you'd like!

  • If you have someone on your team who's already familiar with TeamRaiser/Luminate, then you should look at both. If you only have people who will have to learn from scratch, regardless of which one, then I think you'd be best served by going with JustGiving. It's easier to learn, in my opinion. Neither one is perfect. Perhaps browsing through those individual software communities will also give you some feedback?

Hi @Kelly Bodie - Having used both, I would recommend you stick with TeamRaiser (if you are already using this). JustGiving is great for simple P2P campaigns, but once you get into trying to customize it (more than setting your logo and brand colors) things get out of hand fast as you repeatedly discover that nothing else is customizable.

For instance, with TR you are used to controlling every aspect of a P2P Campaign right down to unique copy and scheduling for autoresponders, including registration fees in fundraising totals, what is displayed at the footer at the bottom of each site page, how users can get to team and individual pages, how these are displayed on the landing page, etc. You cannot control those details within JG.

TR can be difficult if you do not have someone on staff that can code websites (HTML/CSS). If you are not already using TR, of course take a look at JG. Just know that with out-of-the-box comes less opportunity to customize from every direction. I would recommend you take a look at the Idea Banks for both products - this will give you a better idea of the drawbacks.
