Some Words of Encouragement

Hi all,

In light of the changes coming to Word functionality in RE, I wanted to take a moment and reflect back on the past month or so and what I've seen in this Community.

We've vented. We've laughed. We've scratched our heads and questioned things.

Above all, we've worked hard to make this work. All of us.

Whether it's fantastic details made available by the likes of @Bill Connors, positive thoughts from @Dariel Dixon, brilliant suggestions by @Austen Brown, or general sharing of ideas and workflows in the discussion threads, we're making this happen.

Everyone in this Community has risen to the occasion. I've seen more interaction lately than I ever have, with everyone trading secrets and solutions to something we were all sorely surprised by.

I wanted to write this post to thank all of you. Why? Because being in this line of work is often a thankless job. I'm fortunate to work for an organization that “gets it,” but I know what it's like to work for one that doesn't. Everyone wants “big data,” yet most of them don't know what “big data” even means. You provide that (and more) every single day for some wonderful causes. You should be proud.

If someone in the Community has been especially helpful to you lately, feel free to shout them out below. I've mentioned just a few above, but I honestly am thankful for every single interaction I've had on here.

It's called the Community for a reason. I think I'm really understanding why lately.

Wishing you all the best.

-Bobby
