@Geoffrey Goodfellow The other issue with the “decline” option is if one parent declines a form, it still shows as outstanding for the other parent even if the form only requires one parent's signature.

@Bryan Lorenzo Any creative workarounds that would permit me to use optional school forms in a checklist? I tried allowing the parent to set the completed flag on the checklist themselves, but that option doesn't work when you make the step linked to a school form. I also tried changing my optional forms to be required and putting a first question that asks if the parent requests such-and-such for the year, so that everyone answer that question, and some people could answer “no” and then submit the form without answering the full form. However, then I cannot make any of the rest of the form questions required and tons of people were submitting forms with some fields left blank. Could I somehow create a checklist step that isn't directly attached to a school form but just sends the parent to the school form via a hyperlink and then allow the option for the parent to control the status of the checklist step themselves??? Other ideas? I really love Student Checklists but really struggling on how to get them to work effectively for this common use case scenario.

@Bryan Lorenzo Thanks for linking this idea as I used Decline on a form this summer without realizing that the 2nd parent stills sees the form as outstanding even though the 1st parent declined it. Very confusing for parents and causes more work as parents believe both parents need to sign in to complete forms when we were trying to streamline the process by only needing one parent to log in.

@Josceline Reardon @Geoffrey Goodfellow In addition, people may want to vote on this idea as well regarding “Declined School Form should show under Declined only, not Started/Not Started” as I'm now finding it much harder to determine who actually has not Started or Declined the form because one student's form can show in multiple categories.

@Mary Stanton and to be even more confusing, when forms are added via the checklist, the correct # of recipients do not display if you go to the actual form. It is super frustrating. So for instance, one of my checklist adds JK-4th to the Handbook form, but I have to add the 5th graders directly to the form because they have a checklist shared with 6th-8th and they have different handbooks, so the actual Form shows the # of 5th graders, but the as parents start opening and/or completing the form via the checklist for the other grades the amount of recipients changes. See screenshot attached. The total on the form should be 476 as that is our count for JK-5th, but it says 303 and that # will continue to change

@Josceline Reardon Thanks for the heads up on that - very frustrating / confusing since knowing the # of outstanding forms is a key statistic. I love the idea of the Student Checklist but have used them for the bare minimum of forms for us just because I knew the Decline caused some issues when I first started testing the checklists when they initially came out. Will keep this quirk in mind going forward.
