Bulk deleting of incoming students

It would be great and way more efficient if we could bulk select incoming student who chose not to enroll and delete the student and all associated records from CORE

  • Hi Joshua, how are the incoming students entering your system?

    Thanks,

    Sarah

  • Hi Sarah, not sure the specifics in your follow up. All students that are not yet enrolled in the school who are new are imported from Ravenna ADMIT and have a status of incoming student to be assigned a contract template in the EMS system in BB. There is not as far as I am aware another way to “tag” incoming student and parent records. Is that the info you were looking for? Short answer is Ravenna ADMIT integration. Thanks!

  • Hi Joshua, that helps! I think sometimes schools choose to send the users over only after they accept and are accepted in Ravenna so you don't end up with extras. I'll leave this discussion open to see if anyone else has other suggests, and I would encourage you to head over to the idea bank to add your idea over there.

    Thank you,

    Sarah

  • We don't mark candidates as as Incoming Students until the family has signed the enrollment contract. We rarely delete candidate info - there are occasions when these individuals re-enroll. In any case, their info is part of the overall admissions data that is watched year to year for trends, etc.

  • Hi Lauren, so I'm curious, do you use the Blackbaud EMS system for contracts? The bulk delete option is based on the fact that as far as I know, we have to tag students and parents associated as incoming student in order to generate an enrollment contract in the EMS system. There is no option to assign a contract otherwise. So perhaps a better solution would be, can we have BB EMS contracts assignable to a tag other than incoming student so we don't have to delete records when students don't enroll.

  • Hi Joshua,

We also use Ravenna ADMIT integration. We use EM for contracts. Why do you want to delete/remove the candidates who are offered admission but who don't enroll? Do you keep their records in Ravenna exclusively? Do you have rolling admissions? This is my first year going through an enrollment cycle so I am trying to learn how others are using the system!
