Read Only Report for a Single User?

Is there a way in Financial Edge to create an report that we can setup permissions to that a single user can have access to? The situation I am thinking through is allowing department heads or budget managers access to a single report in FE NXT so that can see their department budget and expenses throughout the year. I can create the reports, but I don't see a way to assign permissions so granularly so that only 1 user can access the report. Is that accurate - no way to assign access to a report to a single person, or a group of people?

If there is a way to do this, I haven't found out how yet. I would LOVE a way to create a report for a specific user to run. Same with the dashboard. I would LOVE to create a dashboard for only a specific user to view.

    Hi Chris,

I am interested in doing the same with our department heads, giving them access to sign on and see their budget reports. I was wondering if you found a solution to your question?

  • I set up queries to note which cost centers mgmt staff were allowed to see. Then I restricted their access based on the query that fits them in the Account Security tab in Security Set Up for that user. Then I set up tags and assigned those tags to the cost center reports that each manager would have access to. They can see all reports when they sign in to NXT, but the reports won't return any data if they don't have access. I have managers set the filter on their report view for their tag, so that they only see the cost centers they have access to in their view.

  • My only workaround on this type of situation is to add the staff person's name directly in the name of the report so they can find it easily. It appears to be working so far and it is easy for the staff person to filter on their name.

  • The way I ended up doing it is via accounts - I did advanced security for each user so they only have access to information about a specific account. Then in FE NXT under General Ledger, Accounts, they only see the accounts that they are supposed to see, and then they can run any information or drill down that way.
