Consent, Solicitation Codes and NXT Marketing Email

Hi, I am trying to understand how consent and solicitation codes work in NXT. Specifically, is it possible to set a rule so that someone with solicit code Do Not Email does not get emails from NXT Marketing Emails or do I need to filter when I run the lists for the email?

Hi @Emily Fisher - Welcome to BB Community! You will need to exclude folks with a “Do Not Email” solicit code when you are generating your email lists.

  • @Austen Brown …if the constituent is marked in webview as Requests No Email…will that be excluded from the NXT email list?

Hi @Carolyn Copp - I don't see anything listed in the documentation specifically related to this. I recommend that you remove constituents marked with Requests No Email when creating your email list. Check out the NXT Help Files if you would like to investigate this further.

Because solicit codes are set up by every organization and therefore will be unique, solicit codes alone will not be respected by the software. Raiser's Edge would not be able to interpret the wide variety of text fields used in databases. Core fields, such as “Requests no Email” are more likely to be respected by the database.

There is a lot of nuance to how this all works, between which email type is being used, if any are marked “primary”, and consent codes. It is a lot to review, I would definitely spend some time on the link Austen sent. You'll have to work through the settings and policies that are being used at your organization.
