Predictive Index Model- active use

Good morning.

I am a Data manager who has had new duties of data analyst added. So, now I'm a data analyst specialist. We have had Target Analytics done. For the last 5 months I have been extracting data from RE by using Queries/Exports. I then have put them in Excel format and done additional sorting and segmenting of that data.

I was on a webinar not long ago (but I can't remember which one) that says that you can use RE NXT to help track that segmentation( that you have spent time completing) in RE. But I can't find out what the best practice they said was for this procedure.

Example: I have done a query/export on all previous heart fund donors. I then took that query and made an excel sheet which sorted by age, last gift, and MGL score. I then isolated those accounts by whether assigned or unassigned. After that, I divided them by “years” of last gift. This was all done in order to “find” or locate the best prospects based on our Predictive Modeling. Now I want some way to “identify” those accounts within RE, and continue to be able to “add” to them automatically when others meet certain criteria.

What has been the best practice? Thanks Potique

There are so many ways to tag your prospects. You can use the

    • Prospect Giving Preferences, if your modeling has identified donors who are inclined to specific funding priorities
    • Prospect Ratings, if your modeling has more to do with gift level and affinity
    • Solicit codes, if you operate more on a direct mail process and want to include them in certain mailings
    • Attributes, if you need space for nuanced/queriable details: comments, dates, or a drop-down menu

As far as automatically updating them for future maintenance, this will have to be done through an annual query/analysis process and then use Global Add or Global Change. There is no way to truly automate it, unless you use a third-party add-on (I believe Omatic may have processes to expedite, but as we don't use it, I'm not sure).

  • @Potique Johnson If you're looking to create some of your sorts of ratings or scores you may want to check out an Omatic Software tool called ScoreOMatic. It allows you to build multiple queries that can than be run to give constituents scores. It even has some basic testing methods built in.

We've created a few custom giving scores for various projects here. In our case it's been difficult to measure objective success but our Development Officers have liked the results…
