Fund Description missing on NXT Online Donation Form Email Confirmation

Why did Blackbaud remove the Fund Description from available merge fields within the NXT Online Donation Form Email Confirmation? This is a critical field as donors require assurance their gift was directed to their intended fund. Donors do not care about the unique transaction ID, but rather rely on accuracy of the transaction. This is not donor-centric. I do not currently use the ‘Gift Receipting’ function, as we allow the automatic email confirmation to serve as the tax document. What are your practices and how do you distinguish between the automatic email confirmation and ‘Gift Receipting?’
