We are working on integrating Blackbaud with Canvas through the API and have some questions about how Full Year classes can be identified in the API and set up in Canvas. Any help is much appreciated!

Currently, if we have a Full Year class in Blackbaud that spans three trimesters, it set up three individual classes - one for each trimester. In Canvas we would like to be able to identify that class as a full year class and only create ONE class for the entire year.

No one at at our school is well versed in the API, but the following is the information that the Canvas integration team has passed onto us:

"I am having difficulty understanding what they are referring to when it comes to "the endpoint is Academic Course GET". When I look at OneRoster specifications, I'm not seeing an Academic Course option. We also run into an issue which is that our Platform uses 'GET /courses' and 'GET /classes' from the OneRoster API when it comes to Course information for Canvas"

And, I think there is a setting that might help with regard to the multiple trimester class issue. If you go to the Options area of the OneRoster integration settings, there is an each section/lead section option. Using Lead section would prevent the SIS from returning multiple rows for each term of a class.
