When processing a withdrawn student from Core through Connect RE the grad year that was in the education area is deleted.

I would like to know what other schools do to retain the “grad year” that the withdrawn student would have been in had they not withdrawn. Currently the grad year is deleted when processing a withdrawn student through Connect RE.

We retain “class of” as the “social class.” Most often the anticipated year of graduation is the class year that individuals associate with regardless of when the degree is actually conferred. Students who do a year abroad or take a leave of absence or graduate early tend to associate with their cohort and want to reunion with their cohort.

For example, the 2020 cohort has an anticipated graduation year of 2024. We record class of as 2024 and date graduated as the date the degree was conferred. If a person does not graduate, date graduated this field is left blank and status is marked withdrawn and degree is marked no degree; class of retains the anticipated year of graduation.

I assume you are talking about what to do in the primary education area of Raiser's Edge. We use the On Suite “Core” and I update Raiser's Edge through Connect RE. Once you withdraw a student in the Core the next time you process over to RE the “grad year” that was listed in RE is removed. Documentation for Connect RE indicates that it will delete this data for a withdrawn student. I am looking for a way or place to keep this information so the Advancement team can access information on a withdrawn student.

This is one of the many reasons we had to stop using the Connect RE integration. It created more problems than it solved.
