Tracking Where Students Move On To

We are looking for a place in BB EMS where we can track the schools that departing students move on to – either as graduates, or if they withdraw. Is anyone currently tracking this in BB EMS? Any suggestions?

@Susan Hemingway - At my previous school we tracked it using the Education box on the student's contact card.

Hi @Susan Hemingway have you considered setting up a Custom User Field to capture this data?

@Susan Hemingway For withdrawing students there is a Withdrawal reason you could have the schools there. It isn't a flexible text box.

For alums we usually track that in our Alum system which is more primarily Raiser's Edge.

Hi Susan - we just started tracking it in the Enrolment Management > Schools area. We created a new school type called Transfer to. All the info can be pulled out in and Advanced List. I'm happy to share more info if you'd like.

Hi Kathleen. Thank you so much for sharing this – I think it's exactly what I was looking for.

I wish there we could add to the schools list “on the fly” instead of entering a free text version of the school in “Other”. Do you bother to use the schools list, or do you just use the Other?

We ask parents to enter the current school of their child when filling out the application so we do have quite an extensive list of schools in the drop down. But for all the outliers, it's manually entered, but only one person takes care of that.
