Schedule Sets for classes that meet every day AND some every other

We are new to Blackbaud. All of our core classes meet every day (English, Math, History, etc) but our elective classes meet every other day on an A/B rotation. When we set up Blackbaud they had us create 2 schedule sets - one for the every day classes and one for an A/B schedule. What we have determined is that with these schedule sets we cannot easily apply a special schedule. The special schedule doesn't know if its an A or B day! Is anyone else on an A/B type schedule where some classes are on both days and some every other and do you use just one A/B schedule set with a 2 day rotation or do you split it across 2 schedule sets? I'm basically looking for a way that I can easily apply a special schedule because we have at least one special schedule a week which I am updating manually at the current time!

@Patricia Krueger Sorry to say we don't follow any A\\B type of schedule set. Generally speaking though, when you have a special day, you will always need to go to that day under “Academics - Scheduling - Daily schedule calendar” to define what is actually “special” about it. You are never going to get around that. The options you select for that day will dictate the schedule set “knowing” where it's supposed to be in the given rotation after your special day (i.e. Classes Meet (Normal Rotation), Classes Meet (Outside Rotation - Bump), No Classes (Bump), Classes Meet (Outside Rotation - Skip), No Classes (Skip)). We rarely (if ever) “bump” as this can get your rotation messed up quickly and may cause you to have to “reset” at the begining of a following week.

We have a similar issue with A-H days and the special schedule option doesn't work for our schedule. We update the days that have different schedules using the process @Jamie Cross details.

We use this exact format for two grades in MS. When we have a special schedule I simply modify the Daily Schedule Calendar to reflect the new changes. This calendar shows A/B days and you can determine which schedule sets to modify within the edit feature. Hope that helps. This is the same method Jamie Cross explains below.
