Unwanted API constituent change over night

Hi all! Each and every night I get a bunch of constituents marked as modified over the API. The timestamp of those is the same but the date last changed in the constituent properties (database view and webview) does not reflect the same date value.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks for any feedback or input you might have!

this post went into a little details about this:

There are background service that runs on Blackbaud server end that update some info (age, tags, etc) but it only update the “last modified” in the RODS (it seems that way at least) and not in the “actual RE database” that database view's record properties get info from.

There are not good documentation on last_modified unfortunately and i have voiced that to Blackbaud before, though I probably need to search and post on Idea bank.
