Ruby Gem For FE NXT?

I looked in Ruby GEM's repository for a gem that helps connect to Financial Edge NXT for RESTful queries but the only thing I found was an outdated gem for the old Blackbaud connection. I need to get my existing web ap, with a non-rails Ruby backend connected to our FE NXT data that we just migrated. Where should I start?

    What we want to do is make nightly downloads of our General Ledger transactions to a local server in our private MySQL database. From there, I will take care of user access and data transformation. I do not want to connect a Power App. Please point me in the right direction.
