NXT Missing Functionality

Hello all. I'm reaching out to ask the community about certain promised features of NXT that we haven't seen yet. I know that when we signed the contract, we were promised an Accounts Receivable module, Purchase Order functionality, Import functionality, and Allocation functionality within NXT. Does anyone else have any of these features in NXT? If it's not just us, it seems like Blackbaud is materially in default or breach of contract…

If anyone's interested, we have a complaint with the BBB that they never responded to and ended up closing without a response from Blackbaud. Complaint ID: 20197905

  • @Christopher Hafer We've had things that we understood during the “sales pitch” would be included in the modules we were looking at that when it came time to implement and start using were unavailable. When questioned, we were told that “they're working on it.” It's been VERY FRUSTRATING!

The Blackbaud purchase cards haven't worked anything like we were led to believe that they would. Knowing what we know now, we would never have changed from our current cards.

    Hi Christopher

Thank you for reaching out. We are currently in the process of making some of these features accessible in FENXT within the next upcoming weeks. Currently, Import for miscellaneous payment and view-only Purchase Orders are part of an early release program available to a limited group of clients. As we progress, we will gradually expand the availability of Import, alongside the new Treasury, and introduce Purchase Orders to more organizations in batches.

In a few weeks, we will also provide a view-only version of Account Receivables (AR) to a select group of clients. This will allow organizations like yours to explore and experience the new AR functionality in FENXT, giving you the opportunity to provide feedback before gaining full access to these features.

Additionally, we are actively working on other features, such as Allocations, which will be made available once they are completed.

Please be assured that we will notify you in advance before introducing any new features to the platform. To stay updated on the latest developments, you can check the "What's new" section within the platform and read the financial blog post in the community.

    Thank you.

Pardon my disbelief, but we've been hearing that since 2020. Does Blackbaud intend to address the last two and a half years of undelivered service that was paid for?

  • @Kevin Brazell
So no, Blackbaud does not intend to address the last two and a half years of undelivered service that was paid for? But wow, way to prove my point on how finished NXT is.

You know what though, this feed isn't the appropriate forum for that discussion. I sent this question to reach out to the community of Financial Edge NXT users to get their perspective, not to hear Blackbaud's empty promises of glorious services to come.

  • @Christopher Hafer
If anyone else is considering switching too, the contract with Blackbaud may be invalid since it was entered into under false pretenses. When there's a material departure from the contract terms, that's refered to as a breach.

  • @Regina Okonkwo
Your message is in no way helpful, and in fact proves the point that we are discussing, which is that Blackbaud promised features and has possibly not met its contractual obligations.

It is clear from the poor testing of new features/changes/upgrades to the cut back on support hours and access, lag in response times from the servers, and simply that it is taking years to roll out anything, that Blackbaud as a company is not doing well. There are not only issues in FE but also some very concerning issues in RE NXT as well. This is in no way the same company that it was operating just prior to NXT, the quality all around is simply not there.

  • @Christopher Hafer What other software are people look at?

  • @Kim Wolcott
Hi Kim. Unfortunately, I'm not the best person to answer this question. We did recently setup a team that's starting to meet monthly to review our current software needs and the different options that are out there, but this team has only met once so far and is still in its infancy. I'd say though that it really does depend on your needs, the size of your organization, the internal controls you have, your account strucure, and your budget for an accounting information system. I wish I could give you a more straight answer to your question, but I just don't currently have that knowlege of other viable software that can compete. I know they're out there though, and we'll find a good one soon enough.
