Integrating Admissions CRM with Blackbaud

How do others integrate data into Blackbaud Education Management? We use Slate for the admissions process and I'm working through how to push data seamlessly into BBEM. The SKY API is lacking on core data points (i.e. Residency, Financial Aid, etc) and I'm finding the file imports are fragmented and extremely slow. Right now, I'm forecasting having to run an ETL job to execute 3 API's and then generate at least 5 files with a limit of 1000 rows that a user would have to manually upload.

  1. Is this what everyone does who doesn't use BBEM for admissions?
  2. Has anyone created their own custom APIs to try and overcome BBEM shortcomings?
  3. Can anyone share some lessons learned or best practices?

    @Laura Nation yes! I implemented Slate for our admissions department back in 2020. It's be fair the best tool I've experienced working with. Talk about flexibility, robust features, ability to easily integrate with other systems and a fantastic user experience. They have the right model for rolling out new features, making sure they are focusing on what clients need, and really making it easy for anyone to manage. I can't wait to see how they move forward with Student Success.
