Duplicate search rank

After finding the entity reference for the duplicate search object, I see that it is defined as a string. Firstly, why is that? Secondly, is there a risk that it is not a decimal? And lastly, what is the range for the ranking? I assume that it is between 0 and 1 but this is not clear in the documentation.

    I'm assuming you are talking about the “rank” property on the result form the API call. As to why it is a string, I think Blackbaud will have to answer that.

    However, if you test the search endpoint out, it is pretty easy to see that it is like a “percentage”. 1 is 100% match, so I imagine it should be decimal value from 0-1.
