Exporting Financial Edge NXT Backup

Hello, all,

Please let me know any experiences or suggestions for retaining Financial Edge NXT backup longer than the 90 days provided by Blackbaud by default.

Is there a third-party backup integration or Blackbaud retention setting that can be used to show what the data was prior to the 90-day backup retention period?

@Troy Taylor There isn't a third party for accessing the hosted databases. This KB article here , shows the way backups are handled. You can request a copy of your database, this KB shows you what you'll need to do. Now usually they are providing the backup , which is usally a zipped up .BAK file . To actually do anything with it you'll need to have FE database view installed as a server with the blackbaud management console software ( Called BMC in many KB's). Also you'll need a matching version of microsoft's sql server that was being used in the cloud. Then you're able to restore the backup in database view only and see the data. Also , depending on the version and patch number of FE that is being used when the backup is made, you'd need that same version and patch installed locally as well to restore the DB and log into it.
