Is it possible to run a report to find the highest paid vendor?

@Maria Panasian We always run a query for this report. I did see there is now a vendor activity report. Maybe you could use that.

@Maria Panasian I created my own using the Cash Disbursements Journal, then export to Excel and subtotal and sort.

Hi @Maria Panasian! You can actually retrieve this very easily in Dashboard Builder, as ‘Top Vendors by Balance’

You'll just need to:

1 - Navigate to Analysis > Dashboard Builder, hit the plus button on the top left to add a new dashboard.

2 - Then on the next screen, on the right, search for ‘Top Vendor by Balance’ and you can either click on it or drag it over to the left to pull it onto the dashboard. Edit the sizing, as needed, and date filter above it for the time period you'd like to see and hit 'Save and Close'.

3 - You'll be prompted to name the dashboard, and it will offer you some security settings regarding who can view/edit your new dashboard, and click Save. Then the new Dashboard will be an option for you to simply view from that page of Analysis > Dashboard Builder anytime you need to access it.

@Maria Panasian Make sure you've selected ‘Dashboard Builder’ and not ‘Dashboards’ from the Analysis drop down. And then when you click the add (plus) button you should see this screen on the right. If you have any issues accessing this area, I would advise chatting into support to get a little assistance – it could be a rights/access issue if you're not able to get to this screen with those quick steps.

@Maria Panasian I have to sincerely apologize, as I didn't realize that actually that insight was created using Insight Designer, which is an optional module within Dashboards in which you can create custom insights like that. You would know if you have that module if you have the ability, when on the Insights tab under Dashboard Builder, you have an add (plus sign) option in the top left, just like you do for adding dashboards. So that explains why you don't see it in your list already – so sorry for the confusion there. If you have Insight Designer, you can easily create that but if not, I will elaborate here on Beckie's suggestion.

You'll want to be in database view to access Query. Here is the Knowledgebase solution (https://kb.blackbaud.com/knowledgebase/articles/Article/40749) that walks through setting up that query. If you set it up as dynamic, and not static, you can always run that same query to get the most up to date information/balances.
