Country selection error for phone number?

I use Canada version of RE NXT and I'm trying to add a US phone number in NXT. I choose US as the country but after I save the phone number and then go back, it shows Canada flag icon. I've tried with formatted or no-format phone types but the result is the same. When I add +1 to the front of the number, it automatically switches the country to Canada and when I don't add +1, it switches to Canada after I save without any prompts. Is this a bug or is there another way around?

@Alper Gungor FWIW both the US and Canada use +1 country code.
