Notating receipt of a mailing

Hello, I am new to Raiser's Edge so I may just be missing some information!

We are sending out a hard copy mailing. I have built a List of the Constituents who will receive this mailing. The list is about 1,350 Constituents. I would like to notate in Raiser's Edge NXT that these 1,350 Constituents are receiving the mailing. Is an Action the best way to do this? And if so, how do I batch apply an Action to all 1,350 Constituents? Thank you!

@Casey Olesko Welcome to the BB Community.

You have several options. (I strongly recommend some training on RE when doing global things like this. Mistakes do happen even to experienced users.)

Is the mailing a solicitation? If so, the Appeal tab may be a better place to record. If not, then Action is good choice. Either way, you will need a query of the records that received the mailing. You have to have user rights to do but you can find Admin > Globally Add Records. Select Action (or Appeal) and add the information needed on the appropriate tabs. BE SURE TO SELECT your query as INCLUDE. It's a one and done, no real preview.

Let me add on to @JoAnn Strommen's suggestion. If this mailing is a solicitation, appeal is the best place for this information. If you do go that route, you'll have to create the appeal and then globally add or import this data. In this case, I don't know if there is a better route, but both as skills that you'll need as you grow.

@JoAnn Strommen my Foundation is currently doing global changes and I have elected to have a partner work with me step by step to try to avoid any mistakes. It just helps reassure we are doing it correctly.
