Batch payments for events with benefits

I'm seeing a sporadic issue (those are the best) in which event registration payments are coming in through batch and sometimes do not have a benefit entry for the donation. In other words, the charitable amount is the full amount of the payment, even though some portion of it should be a benefit.

It's not always the same event, it's not always the same donor, it's not always the same payment method. It is always through batch, but there are at least three ERB templates that I've seen it come from. We aren't talking a big number, percentage-wise; it's maybe 5 gifts per month that this happens to.

I'm at my wits end trying to figure out why this happens. Does anyone out there have suggestions for what to look for that I might have overlooked?

Manually or from BBID or import or some other way?) and hopefully suggest some next steps. Thanks!

    Thank you William - I have considered that, but I don't have a reliable way to reproduce the issue, and I know one of the first things Support would want would be a “steps to reproduce” list. I can say the batches are entered manually. I'd be tempted to say it's human error (and it may be) but the data entry person who does these has been in that role for years, and is generally very reliable and consistent.

  • @Joseph Styons recent upgrade? We just had some issues with calling OOB batch sprocs when going from SP32 to SP35 for a specific client.

    Thanks for the reply, but not in this case. They are on SP33, and have been since it came out. The issue happened both before and after that. I guess it could conceivably be related to an earlier SP, I might look into that

  • @Joseph Styons do you have an example of a gift where this issue happened? You can rerun that gift through the GL code to see what's happening where.
