1099 Activity Report vs 1099 Vendor info

Hi all, When I look at all of my 1099 vendors, they are marked correctly as a 1099 vendor. But when I look at the YTD 1099 totals, it reads as $0. However, when I ran a 1099 Activity report, it is showing the correct total in the NEC column. I cannot figure out if, when I begin to run the 1099's in Atrix, will the information be correct? Do I need to make a manual correction in the vendor record before doing that or will it cause it to duplicate the amount? I'm so darn confused!!!!!

I always use the disbursement journals. I trust those the most.

A common issue that can cause this is part of the 1099 setup. You have to do 2 things : 1 mark the vendor as 1099 vendor. 2. On the 1099 distribution box fill out which box and the percentage ( and state if needed). Then when an invoice is made FE looks to the box on the vendor to copy it to the invoices on every single invoice. IF this box is empty on the vendor, then it doesn't get copied to your invoices. So when you pay them the invoice is not “included” in your 1099 amounts. If the vendor was missing this all year, and all invoices are missing this information then FE would have zero dollars reported. In this case for this year's 1099's do 1099 adjustments for any missing amounts. Then after you get those done, I'd check the vendor's 1099 distribution box to make sure they are filled out. If you have made any invoices for 2024, if unpaid or posted, you can add that information to those invoices. If you've already paid those invoices, then you'll need to do at least an adjustment for the 2024 reporting year too for any invoices that are missing that data.

@Kevin Brazellthank you so much Kevin. This is so helpful! I'll go look at that today. Would you happen to know why, when I run the 1099 activity report, it's showing amounts under NEC that are correct? If I make the adjustment in the vendor file, will it cause it to report double the amount?

Hello:

I am a first time Blackbaud FE NXT user and will be using it file my 1099 for the first time. My 1099 activity report total does not match my 1099 query report. I am pretty sure is the date. It appears the activity report is calendar year, and the vendor query on our fiscal year. I am not sure how to change the query to calendar for reconciliation…. Thanks

We are having issues with our 1099 reporting as well. We have a specific vendor that we pay a set amount each month (sometimes we skip a month & pay two months at the same time if the vendor does.

January: report shows $0.02 under what was booked on the AP invoice.

February: report shows $0.03 over what was booked on the AP invoice.

March: report matches what was paid.

April: report shows $0.02 under what was booked on the AP invoice.

etc.

Is this a bug other folks are seeing?

So the amounts showing on the 1099 report are not correct (though only off by pennies most of the time).
