Inability to post tuition until after add/drop in Billing Management

We are implementing Billing Management and it has recently come to our attention that once tuition has been posted, you cannot make changes to it (ie: add or drop a class). As an organization that bills for fall semester July 1 and drop add happens September 1, we are curious if other organizations have a similar timing problem and have found any work arounds or have any suggestions?
