Link Shared Addresses via Import

I'm importing a new class and their families into RE. Does anyone know if there is a way to link shared addresses via import? This used to happen through integration with Education Edge and then we did it with Omatic. I'd like to do this with a regular import if possible.

looking at the address import section in dbview and did not find any field that can be used to indicate shared address, so unlikely something that can be done via import

@Trina Sandler That's not something I've found a way to do with RE import.

That said, I also quit using the shared functionality awhile back because I ran into issues with it when I was running Address Finder. I often didn't know about divorces or when Alumni moved out of their parents' homes and when records shared addresses, I found updates to address records that shouldn't have been there due to the shared addresses (John and Jane get divorced, but they are sharing an address so even though only Jane has a new address, the new address is applied to both of them).

  • @Trina Sandler, if you import them as Relationships, the Relationship Import ID might be helpful to share address (IRAddrIRImpID)

  • I am circling back on this question that was brought up before if anyone has found a way to link addresses for spouses with the same address? has anyone got a process to do this weather it be a RE global change, import or an import via omatic.
