Is there an alternatives to using Query API to update RENXT lists.

Currently, we use multiple static queries linked to RENXT lists for various processes. While exploring ways to update these queries, I anticipated that running the query using the query API would update the RENXT list linked to the query. However, after experimenting with executing static constituent queries (using the Power Automate flow created by @Ashley Moose) to update RENXT constituent lists, I've discovered running the query through Power Automate doesn't update the RENXT list.

Is there an alternative way to update a static RENXT constituent list using the information collected when the Power Automate flow executes the query? I'm currently creating a .csv file of the query results and emailing it to the team. If possible, I'd like to update the RENXT list so that the constituents get added to the workflow we have created.

Honestly, I wouldn't use the RE NXT build-in workflow, it it's capability is really minimal. I do understand for an org that doesn't have any resource to do Power Automate, they have “something” to play with.

I think for you, who has experience with Power Automate, there is no reason to try to “bridge” this gap. Just use a power automate flow directly to automate what you are trying to do with RE NXT workflow (send email? create action? you can do that in Power Automate).

if you want an ability for someone else to trigger the workflow, create “action button" add-in into RE NXT for them to trigger.

@Alex Wong, I considered creating the flow in Power Automate. However, it would take me much longer to build out in Power Automate, and we like the conditional ability the workflow offers. I'm not sure how I'd replicate that in PA.

In this specific workflow, we use query to identify which donations from our Day of Giving need to have an incentive mailed out, assign an action to our team to mail out the incentive, and once they mark the action complete the workflow waits three days (our internal mail department takes some time to actually mail items) and sends an email to the donor letting them know their incentive is on the way.

The problem is that I can't create a list that only includes gifts with a benefit amount in RENXT. Since we offer donors the option to opt out of incentives, not all donors need to be added to the workflow.

Additionally, you mentioned sending an email using Power Automate. Can you send an email from RENXT using PA? We prefer using the RENXT email so the donor email experience is consistent and the record records if the donor has engaged with the email.

I'm open to alternative ways to automate this process. We have been manually adding donors to the workflow which is the process I'm trying to automate.

I don't use RE NXT email, so I don't know what “experience” you are trying to keep consistent. That would be something you will need to determine.

what is your static query? a constituent or gift query where you are specifying specific record or critering on properties that's avaiable on sky api call?

It is up to you if you want to spend the time now to use power automate to make the automation for this (which I'm almost positive it it will be able to do) and save on future time that you need to do manual work on.

@Hallie Guiseppe- Hi Hallie- I have many queries right now that I refresh through Queue. Although it is not working great right now, it has been beneficial. I know you probably don't want the extra expense of purchasing Queue.

I would be patient with the Query API. Although it might not work now, I am hopeful that the API will have the ability to refresh static queries on a schedule through Power Automate. As you know, they said a Query connector will be coming soon.
