Automate e-Receipts for Recurring Gifts in NXT Donation Forms

I created an NXT Donation Form and it seems to be configured for automatic emails for:

1. Confirmation Email for the recurring gift

2. eReceipt for the first recurring gift payment after the batch is approved

Any other recurring payments that are charged and approved after the first recurring payment are not automatically sent a receipt and coded as receipted. Is anyone automating this process successfully to auto-receipt the correct email template based on the donation form used (ie: Employee Donor eReceipt vs. General Donation Form eReceipt)? Or is someone having to manually go into Fundraising > Gift Receipting and selecting a List of unreceipted web gifts to then generate eReceipts for?

    @Aimee Holland - There is the potential you can create an automation through Power Automate to do this for you; the acknowledgement letter flows are well documented I see no reason why you couldn't adapt that to accomplish this goal. Check out this blog for more info:

    @Aimee Holland I think this is a hole in the system that needs to be resolved without the use of something like PowerAutomate (though I can appreciate that that is great option until it is resolved). I found this as an Idea in the Bank from 2022 and am sharing it to help encourage more votes. RENXT-I-2822

    I understand your perspective, but given Blackbaud slow speed in rolling out features that “SHOULD” be there as well as ideas in IdeaBank that has high vote but not being worked on, taking matters into our own hand will help solve problem that would otherwise be a time sink for the manual labor that has to be put in.

    @Aimee Holland
    Tackling issue that Blackbaud has yet to fix using Power Automate is a great way to increase your value to your org as well as upgrading your own skillset using Blackbaud product, but if this isn't your cup of tea or aspire to do, you can always make a case with your org to pay a vendor/partner to do this for you

    @Alex Wong It absolutely will take time and I can appreciate Power Automate as an option but the reality is that Power Automate is not accessible for every user and I think it's important that we continue to push for solutions that work for everyone.

  • @Christine Robertson Here's a link to Add automatic receipts for recurring gifts. I'm guessing that's the idea you found? (Edit: the link you posted just linked to the general Idea Bank.)
