Self Scheduling option in a Student Checklist

I was able to create a work-around in order for our school to utilize student checklists during our registration process. The school office decided to try using school forms and student checklists for the registration days this year. During our Registration there are additional forms and steps each family must do in order to be ready for the first day of school. By utilizing the above mentioned services in Blackbaud the families will have the majority of items done before coming to campus. The problem we came across was there wasn't the ability for self scheduling in the student checklist in order for parents to schedule their registration appointments. Here was my solution:

  • Create a new role that cloned the tasks for Event Registration on the EMS side. I assigned this role to our school office staff. Prior to this they didn't have access to those events.
  • Create an event/event registration in EMS for our registration dates and times.
  • Create a step on the student checklist and use the shareable link from the event registration.

I hope this was clear and understandable! We're excited to try this out later this summer, and I will try to update afterwards to see how smoothly it goes!
