Giving users the ability to edit name formats

Hello!

I am trying to adjust user security in NXT to allow certain people to go to the “constituent summary” tile, then the “edit” button, then “name formats.” Those people should then be able to customize the addressee/salutation of that particular constituent (see screenshot below).

What specific permission allows people to do that? I've looked at Blackbaud documentation, and I can't seem to find it. These users have the “edit” checkbox checked off in the database security settings for addressee/salutation in constituent records, but that's apparently not enough.

Thanks a lot!

  • @Ken Willey I have never seen detailed security permissions for NXT in my 2 years of using it. Database view has this level of settings, but it also doesn't all roll up to NXT. It's the wild west out there and people will be able to change things without any oversight in most cases if they need access to certain fields. Definitely a downside to using NXT!

@Ken Willey having permissions set in DB view is the first step. For those with access to web view, you have to set up separate permissions. I cannot access those now with my new position but you will have to go into Control Panel and set up various roles for which you need to assign permissions. In my old position I basically mimicked what was established in DB view for the roles. I know this isn't a lot but hopefully it helps some.
