Power Bi Connector - Issue Importing Lists

Hello all!

I've used the GitHub to create the connector between Power Bi and RE NXT. When I try to pull my premade lists to Power Bi however, they do not include the columns that I need BUT does use the filters that I put in place… am I missing an option somewhere?

Thanks for any help/right direction you could point me in…

Hello, @James Belk. The Power BI Connector leverages the API endpoints that list records, such as Gift List and Constituent List. If you are talking about your Gift Lists, then the fields available through the API endpoint that the Power BI Connector relies on are detailed here: API Reference - RENXT Get Gift List (blackbaud.com).

Many users find this limitation frustrating. This is where the Query API comes in handy. You can define a query with your records and fields, then use @Ashley Moose 's template to save Query results to a .csv file on SharePoint.

We are eagerly anticipating a certified connector for Query API soon, which will simplify these flows.

With Query, please use caution to avoid duplicate records with one:many relationships. If you need a one:many relationship (e.g. Constituency), Power Query Editor can pivot the duplicating column, but that would be a separate topic

This is how the power bi connector (custom not official from blackbaud, as there is no official from Blackbaud connector for power bi) works, the connector will return all data that can be returned from the API endpoints, it is not going to check your column selected on RE NXT webview's list to see what you selected to output.
