Student Withdrawal Procedures

When a student withdraws, should that process start in Enrollment Management or in Core? Currently, our Admissions department marks the student as not returning, but I don't receive any sort of notification. Is there a way to set up notifications? Is it better for me to withdraw them in Core first so I can post any final grades?

What policies and procedures are others using, please?

  • @Jennifer Miller we have them complete a school form (located in enrollment management) for the withdrawal. I am notified when that comes through. After the form is received, I go into both places to withdraw them and I also send an email notification for those who need to know about the withdrawal (administrators, business office, etc.)

  • @Candi Roberts how do the families gain access to this form. This is our fist year with Blackbaud and in our experience so far you have to assign a form to student/parents in order for it to be visible to them.

    When they indicate their student(s) is not returning, I assign them the form(s) and communicate that their withdrawal isn't official until we have received that.
