Fixed Assets Actions as a Work Flow

In Database there's an ability to assign an action to a user to complete within the fixed asset module. This could include asking a user to move, retire, or edit an asset in the module. In Database there's a way to assign that action, set a priority, change the status, and even send reminder notifications. In WebView, while you can assign an action to a user, that's all the current functionality will allow. You cannot set the priority, status, or send a reminder in WebView. As the assigned user, you cannot even tell that there is an action that needs your attention unless you go to the asset assigned in fixed asset and see in the action tab that something is assigned to you. In Database, there's a report you can run that will pull a list of all the assigned and open actions for you to circulate to users at your organization; this report is not migrated into WebView. You also can't set reminder notifications in WebView to remind the user that an open action still needs their attention. In order to make Actions a workflow and not just a record keeper, the Action Asset Listing report needs to be migrated to WebView and the Actions tab needs to include all functions available in Database currently. Please vote on these two ideas to help make this a workflow within the fixed assets module! Thanks!

  • @Megan Smith I want to echo your thoughts on the need for a more robust action functionality in WebView. I submitted a similar request regarding integrating the “assigned to” field in the Action section of the fixed asset card with the corresponding email. This would ensure that responsible parties receive timely notifications about their pending actions.

In addition, fully migrating the features from Database to WebView—such as reminder emails, status updates, priority settings, and deadlines—would transform it into a true workflow tool. This alignment would greatly improve our efficiency and streamline our processes.
