Student Assignment Center View

The “Assignment Center” this year does not seem to show when assignments are assigned just when they are due. Is there a way to adjust the display settings/options? It was extremely convenient to see when things were going to be assigned as well as due.

I confirmed that the assignments in the grade book have different assigned and due dates.

Hi @Kathryn McGroarty -

The new assignment center is completely centered around the due date, there is not currently a way to toggle between assigned vs due. If you would like to see that function come back, I encourage you to submit it to the Ideas Portal. We're very interested in feedback on this module, especially now that it's gone live for all of our schools.

With that said, if the student goes to Classes > Select a class > Assignments, they can still filter based on a Assigned date, if they need.

I was noticing that even though we have global settings set to “Due Date” for teachers, their assignment centers always default to Assigned. Same with the time. It's set in the admin default, but shows up as 12 am for the teacher. Has anyone else seen this issue?

Similar to @Kim Ashcraft, the Teacher Assignment calendar views (both the Class and in the Assignment Center) are showing Assigned instead of Due. I have “Due” selected in the global settings. I've created a Case #019830185. Teachers are understandably frustrated.

@Michael Morrissette Help! We have so many frustrated teachers, parents and students that cannot see their assignments by DUE date (which should be the default) in the Calendar (where assignments overlay with the school calendars, etc.). They also are defaulting to Assigned instead of due on the Class pages, calendar view for both parents and students. Finally, the teacher assignment center is defaulting to assigned instead of due, even though I have that global setting set to “Due”. I put in a case last week. Any thoughts as to when things will go back to defaulting to Due instead of Assigned? I field numerous emails and calls and students stopping by the help desk every day. I try to point students and parents to the new assignment center, but teachers don't have that..so everything is defaulting to “assigned” on their end, everywhere. Even if they switch it to “due" on the class page, it pops back to “assigned” if they leave the page and come back. Super frustrating start to the year.

@Nancy Kierstead and @Michael Morrissette, we also have an open customer support case (#019844794) about why teachers are seeing all their assignments by “assigned” date on the calendar instead of the “due” date. They are able to switch it to due date, but when they exit and return, it defaults back to assigned date, despite having the default in setup set to due date.
