Household vs. Individual Logic Opt In/Out BBCRM

How do Opt in/out Mail preferences and solicit codes work when it comes to individual and household levels? Is there a default way this works or an area we can see these settings?

From my understanding it is like this, but I am unable to find any concrete information on the knowledge base-

  • Individual Preferences: Apply to specific people and override household preferences. If a household opts to receive communications, but an individual within that household opts out, the individual’s choice is honored.
  • Household Preferences: Apply to all members unless overridden. If a household opts out and no individual overrides it, the household-wide opt-out will be enforced. Conversely, if the household opts in and no individual opts out, communication will proceed to all members of the household.

Also, is there an exclusion that can override these settings? Or is this something that I am off base on? Any help is appreciated?
