New optimized donation form error message: "Can't process your payment. Try again soon or contact at or ."

When first testing the optimized donation form, the process seemed to proceed normally for me after I chose an amount.

At some point this error message started appearing immediately after choosing the amount instead.

The error message is, "Can't process your payment. Try again soon or contact at or ."

What is the cause of this error message? Why does it look incomplete as if it is missing contact information?

This occurs if I try to use the Hosted URL provided in the form setup.

Now, after seeing that error message consistently for a bit (at least a few days, but might have been longer and I didn't notice because I was between tasks) now it is coming up just blank? Still not working, but now it is blank instead of the red error message?

    I think I found the cause of this. If you have multiple choices in your Payment Configuration dropdown under “Gift processing” when building the optimized form, you cannot choose a broken/invalid payment configuration as a choice even if you're in test mode where payments aren't processed. Switching to a valid configuration while remaining in test mode solved this error message for me.
