SSN to Attribute

Hey all…I am so sad that this is most likely my final post in the Blackbaud Community. We are migrating to Bloomerang and our license expires at the end of the month. I have thoroughly enjoyed this community and being an All-Star (if you had told me that 3 years ago I would have laughed!)

I need help with one last thing….I stupidly recorded our employee ID's in the SSN field and now we can't get the data out because it is encrypted. Is there a way to move or change the data from SSN field to another so that we can get the migration coders to get it into our new system?

@Whitney Shelton Hi Whitney! Best of luck in your new system I haven't used that one. For the SSN, in export, if you right click on the field to access format I think you can change it to be unmasked? I can't test that right now, as I don't have any in my system right now, but that may work for you!

The suggestion from @Aldera Chisholm looks correct. If you are trying to pull this direct from the db, then that is encrypted there (for good reason) and you cannot pull it out. But if you use the export functionality you should be able to unmask it thru that process.
