Recept Stack vs Receipt Series

As we move towards the Total Web Solution for RE NXT, has anyone heard anything about the Receipt Stack vs Recept Series?

I noted that you can include Receipt Stack via the Gift's ReceiptAdd API, but we don't appear to have access to the Receipt Series via API.

Which one are we supposed to use as we move to a world where there is no Database View?

not sure what you mean by Receipt Stack vs Series. do you have more context or screenshot of what you mean?

  • Hi @Alex Wong,

RE7 database view has a value in the Canadian version for Receipt Stack. It allowed us to create unique sequences of serial numbers when generating tax receipts. We have often used this functionality to help detail which application issued the receipt or the type to be issued (e.g. Luminate vs RE Print vs RE Email). While you can see the Receipt Stack on a gift record in NXT web views, you cannot add/edit it; functionally, it does not impact receipt processing through the NXT web views.

NXT web views leverage the Receipt Series - but they are not the same thing as a Receipt Stack, nor do they function the same way as a Receipt Stack. Additionally, you cannot see or add receipt series on a gift record in NXT web views or the RE7 database view.

Suppose we are trying to move towards using the Total Web Solution but want to identify which external system issued a receipt and what the receipt number is. In that case, we have to record it via database view/API using the Receipt Stack value - but that doesn't align with the NXT web view functionality being rolled out as part of the Total Web Solution.
