RENXT Batch/Constituent Record

It would be helpful to be able to open a constituent record from a RENXT batch. Sometimes it's helpful to check the donors previous giving to determine what GL# the current gift should be applied to or see what affiliation the donor has with our organization.

@Sandra Kemenczy Are you talking about while you are entering a gift, or, if you are going back to look at an existing batch? Assuming you mean while entering a new gift into an NXT batch - to be honest, I just open a second NXT window in my browser - one for the batch as I enter the gifts, and one to search and look at constituents.

@Aldera Chisholm Lack of the constituent side panel in batch is another reason I've been slow to switch to web view batch. I always utilize that constituent data when bringing in gifts to see that we have that address/phone/email. It's not always the primary so an extra pain to see if on records using web view. (This is gifts not coming into web view online - checks or other platforms.)
I have a feeling I will end up with many multiple tabs open to check data.

In your other post today, I find it odd you are mentioning GL#, and here again you are mentioning GL#.

Can you expand what you mean by that? Many of us automatically assume GL# to be General Ledger account number related to posting, which wouldn't be directly affected while you are doing your gift batch in RE NXT.

I'm used to people who come from more of a finance-driven org using GL in the same way dbase folks tend to use fund.

As it stands Batch in webview is not fit for purpose and it should never have been released as it is a detriment to Gift Entry productivity.

@Sandra Kemenczy it's important to remember that NXT gift batch as it works now is not the end goal. One of the biggest projects BB is working on is creating a gift batch module in NXT that is very similar to how gift batching works/looks in RE7. It's going to be rolled out within the year. Until then I would just do like others have suggested and open an additional tab/window
