Event Info to Const. Record

Why does the info we ask for under “Participant Information” in an Event, not automatically go to the const. record???? Is this something that is the works for RE to do?
And if not, how do we get that info from the event to the record in a efficient and timely way?

Specifically any information that is asked for in an EVENT under PARTICIPANT OPTIONS. This information seems to only “live” in the event and is not automatically populated in the constituent record. I need that information to go into the record.

Participant Option can be anything you want, system (RE NXT) is not able to know where you want that piece of information on a constituent record.

So for example, you can use Participant Option to get Birthday information from your guest, and when provided, the participant option will store the birthday info, however, RE NXT is not going to know to take this info and load it into the constituent birthday field.

One can argue (and submit an idea to Idea Bank) and have Blackbaud build a functionality such that all participant option is automatically created as constituent custom field (attribute). OR provide UI that allows each participant option to be “map” to a field or custo field on the constituent record. Given how reluctent Blackbaud has been with introducing new functionality around custom field, I won't hold my breathe. I can just hear Blackbaud engineer screeming about: “how am i going to deal with potentially one-to-many relationship of certain custom fields, and data type, etc”.

I don't think your request is unreasonable and I have heard this from my org's staff and others on the community. From knowing Blackbaud roadmap (from PUB) and been a customer of Blackbaud for over a decade, I am not sure if Blackbaud will build this into event module on RE NXT.

That said, you can manully export from participant option and import it back into the right field/custom field on constituent record, or you can automate this using power automate and sky api.
