EMV Timing Update
Blackbaud’s planned rollout of an EMV-compliant point-of-sale (POS) solution has been delayed. We are working closely with our partner, Visa, on a resolution. Timing for general availability is dependent on certification of Visa’s solution, which is now scheduled for March 2016.
However, until we have EMV terminals available, Blackbaud is offering additional protection to clients who process payments using CyberSource (in Altru) as well as Blackbaud Merchant Services (in Altru, the Blackbaud Merchant Services Virtual Terminal, or Blackbaud MobilePay). This protection covers chargebacks that occur for card-present machine-read transactions that are due to the EMV liability shift, including transactions for ticket sales, event registrations, scheduled program registrations, membership sales, and merchandise sales. It does not include coverage for transactions where your nonprofit does not experience a loss (such as lost donations).
