Attendance reports for the state

So we track attendance per class which the system then maths out and summarizes on each student profile. So Timmy misses morning classes for 2 days and now has 1 days absent on his profile in the summary. Jenny misses all classes for 3 days and just her first class on the 4th and her summary says 3.2 days absent. This can be added to their transcripts and report cards.

What I need to provide to the state every month is a report of ALL student and their total days absent. There is no report like this in the system. I've been talking to tech support about it for a year and they have no sollution beyond exporting a report of all class absenses into excel and then doing the math for each student individually. Every month. That's insanity.

Does anyone else have this issue and have you found a sollution you could share?
