Post Subledgers Filters Not Working

Curious if anyone else has had issues with the post subledgers filters not working. As part of a weekly rhythm, we ideally like to post our payables in separate batches by payment type: check, EFT and bank draft. This seems like it should be fairly simple - I have set the filter to Transaction Type > Computer Check (and then saved before validating). But when I review the validation report it is showing bank drafts and EFTs as well. It seems to only use the date range I select but doesn't also use the payment type filter. I can sometimes get it to work correctly ONCE if I build a brand new Record from scratch. But if I ever try to go into that same Record and change the payment type (and save before validating) it pulls in everything.

is this a saved Post parameter that isn't listening to the filter?

  • Yes. I have saved it each time I change anything before I validate. But when I go to validate and pull the validation report, it's pulling in EFT and Bank Draft transactions. I did another test this morning where I created a new Record from scratch and set it to pull only computer checks, but it does the same thing - it's pulling in EFT and some bank draft transactions. It worked once in the past when I asked it to only pull EFT transactions for a range - it really only did pull EFTs. But every other time I try to change the filter, save, and validate, it seems to honor the date range but ignore the filter.

So try it on a new one. Even in database view , saved post parameters could become invalid, meaning they wouldn't listen to filters and usually making a new one fixed it, and you'd delete the old one. If you've not tried that yet, do. If it persists into a fresh one, then I'd contact support as there would be something more serious going on.
