Tax Season Resources 

As the year comes to an end, Blackbaud knows that Tax Season is just around the corner.  This is a busy time for your organization, and we are here to share some resources to help you prepare for success! 

We have created a dedicated resource that outlines the steps involved with preparing for tax season.  Our Financial Edge NXT End of Year & Tax Resources site will guide you through the steps for a smooth 1099 filing. 

Blackbaud will host two Q&A sessions for tax season preparation.

Aatrix 1099 functionality is available in Financial Edge NXT.  Review information on how to access 1099s and about recent Aatrix changes in this KB article.  

With the Holiday Season in full swing, the Financial Edge NXT Team hopes these resources will help you prepare for a successful tax season!  Additional notifications will be shared in our products and in the Financial Edge NXT Resource Center and the Financial Edge NXT Product Help.  

Financial Edge NXT Tutorials 

Check out our Tutorials page to help maximize your use of Financial Edge NXT features. These tutorials provide targeted support for key tasks, such as helping users efficiently manage fiscal years or process payments.  

Our current selection of tutorials include: 

• Closing Fiscal Years: Step-by-step guidance on posting transactions, processing batches, and closing periods to finalize fiscal year closure. 
• Customize Your Home Page: Instructions for personalizing your Home page for a tailored and efficient experience. 
• Generate Reports: Learn how to create reports and access them easily from the navigation menu. 
• Payment Assistant: 
• Getting Started: Overview of setup and usage, including creating and approving payment runs. 
• Creating First Payment Run: Preparation and execution of your initial payment run. 
• Process Payments Manually: Tutorial on handling payments for bank drafts, computer checks, EFTs, and one-time checks. 
• Check Printing Alignment: Guidance on configuring check element alignments for individual items or groups.

What’s New 

We’re excited to announce several powerful enhancements that are now available in Financial Edge NXT web view. These updates are designed to streamline your workflows and give you more control over your financial data. 

• Customize home page 
• Expense management  
• Toggle image preview 
• Review your pending purchase requests 
• Receivables – Sales Tax report 
• Payables – Recurring invoices (for Canadian and Australian customers) 

The following features are in EAP for some customers. 

• Blackbaud AI - Chat 
• Automated deposits 

The following features are in LA for some customers. 

• Reports generate seamlessly in the background so you can work without disruption. 
• Receivables – Manage returns  

Total Web Solution Journey 

Just as a reminder, we've extended the completion timeline for Total Web Solution (TWS) to the first half of 2026.  This extension decision was made to ensure you have time to adopt, while also allowing time for improvements in usability and performance, based on your feedback!  

By slowing the process, we hope to better support you as you adapt to new workflows in Financial Edge NXT.

What’s Next 

We’re currently working on several features and enhancements for Financial Edge NXT web view. Here are some of the updates you’ll see in upcoming releases: 

• Blackbaud AI - Chat 
• Expenses — Generate invoice requests 
• Allocations — Manage indirect cost allocations 
• Automated deposits —  Only for gifts disbursed through Blackbaud Merchant Services (now part of Blackbaud Integrated Payments) 
• Receivables — Third-party billing 
• Public sector bodies report (Canada customers) — Will be available in Receivables with updated filters 
• Business activity statement (Australia and New Zealand customers) — Will be available in Receivables with updated filters

• Community Announcements. The Community is a great way to stay informed. Subscribe to Financial Edge NXT Community Announcements by clicking on the "Subscribe" link at the top of this blog. You can then select how often you want to receive update notifications.  
• Release Updates. Check out What's Recent, What's New, and What's Next to get all the details on prior, current, and future releases. To help keep you up to date on the most recent developments, What's New automatically opens when you log in to the web view.  
• In-Product Help. Help documentation throughout Financial Edge NXT is context-sensitive. So, no matter where you are in the solution, you can click the bright green question mark at the top right of your screen to get help for that feature.  
• Product Update Briefings (PUB). Check out the most recent Financial Edge NXT PUB, now on demand, to hear from our product management team directly on the latest and upcoming development for Financial Edge NXT!
